Ulrika Järkestig Berggren, Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Social Work from Linnaeus University in Kalmar, Sweden.

Ulrika joined us from Oct. 8 to Oct 20 to do research on perceived stigma in students with disabilities and to guest lecture in the College.  She spoke about the research interests in her home department and offered insight into the implementation of case management for persons with disabilities. She also presented on an ongoing cross-cultural study on students with disabilities in higher education. The grant-funded study will compare outcomes across four countries: Sweden, Great Britain, Czech Republic, and U.S. (UNC Charlotte).
